General Information

St. Joseph's School, Shankargarh was established on 1st April, 2013. The School is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi (CBSE). The school is located on the outskirt of Shankargarh town on Prayagraj-Banda Road Near Shivrajpur, 50 kms away from Prayagraj. It is under the management of the Roman Catholic Diocese Private Limited/ Diocese of Prayagraj Education Society U.P. The School emerged to cater to the educational needs of the locality and surrounding places. It aims at a radical transformation of present day social conditions so that the principles of social Justice, equality of opportunity, genuine freedom and respect for religious and moral values enshrined in the Constitution of India may prevail and the possibility of living a fully human existence may be upon to all.
As educators our main concern and effort is to develop the whole person so as to be fully human and truly Indian. We strive to prepare our students to be responsible, mature and integrated personalities. Along with secular knowledge we aim at forming in them a right conscience in their relation to God and their fellow beings, with a thirst for truth, a sense of social justice, genuine concern for others and obedience to lawful authority. We believe in a Christian social ethic whereby Justice is an absolute requirement of faith in God as our Father and the acceptance of each other as brothers and sisters in His sight. Co-Education : St. Joseph's is a Co-ed school. With the help of co-education the proper emotional integration and development of the child is achieved.

Medium of Instruction :- Using the language of the child as medium of instruction has undeniably inherent educational advantages. Keeping this in mind, in the initial stages, we use bilingual as a medium of instruction. English is definitely the medium of instruction from U.K.G. on wards. We aim at creating an emotionally balanced, intellectually well-development, spiritually oriented, morally sound,
socially aware leader who
- is a person of principles and firm convictions.
- is able to initiate, organize and motivate the group.
- is polite, courteous and flexible enough to respect other's
views and suggestions,
- is ready to take risk and to accept responsibility
- puts service before self.
Conclusion :- It must be recognized that the influence of the school on a student's growth is limited. Other influences such as family, friends, the youth culture and the general environment in which he/she lives also affect the student's growth. In so far as the school can intentionally bring its resources for the growth of the child, it will do so.
